Michael Wetzer - Tech Innovator and Strategic Business Leader

Michael Wetzer is a distinguished engineering and business professional with experience in technology development, digital systems, and strategic consulting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and IT from California State University, Long Beach, and an MBA in quantitative systems from Loyola Marymount University. Over the course of his career, Michael Wetzer has worked across a range of industries, including aerospace, enterprise consulting, and investment.

Mr. Wetzer began in supervisory roles at GEAC/Informer Computing and North American Aircraft, where he supported computing infrastructure and aerospace projects. He later joined Ernst & Young to help establish an R&D consulting group and went on to serve as partner at Accenture, where he was involved in expanding its global R&D efforts. At Destiny USA, he led digital initiatives focused on sustainable building design and related technologies.

Today, Michael Wetzer is chairman of both Cyandia and the Coastal Group of Companies, both of which he founded. His work with Coastal Group involves private equity investments and oversight in early to mid-stage tech ventures. He holds multiple patents and has participated in several company exits. Mr. Wetzer is a certified governance fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and takes part in various professional and nonprofit efforts, including executive mentoring and participation on various company boards.
